Culture Corner

Putting all of what we mentioned about planning aside, the typical response you will get from Egyptians about plans is “Inshallah” or I “will check and come back to you”.

Egyptians are very chill when it comes to planning. They trust each others more than any system of planning.

In fact, Egyptians are so flexible with their plans that they tend to plan on short notice. This includes everything from  small gatherings, all the way up to trips and even weddings. Its so common to receive an invitation to a wedding 2-3 weeks before the wedding.

“I will check and tell you tomorrow” is a typical response you will get from your friend when asking about tomorrow’s plans :). Check out our post on Egyptian time to understand what we’re talking about.

Happy learning,
