But what about plain stupidity?

What about some quick, slap-to-the-face insults for those friends that just don’t get it?

That make your life all the worse for refusing to use their brain?

Well, you’re in luck!

Today, Cleo Lingo will be explaining…..how to insult your friends for their stupidity.

Vocabulary

Stupid. : “GHAWbee”

غبي

This one is the go-to word in Egyptian Arabic. You just have to know it.

Extremely stupid. : “GHAWbee FEHshkh”

.غبي فشخ

Basically, the word “fehshkh” could be added after any adjective to make it more extreme.

Retarded. : “MOOtuhKHEHliff”

.متخلف

The word that is a bit more insulting is “retarded.”

While some people disagree with the general use of this word in English….don’t kill the messenger.

We are just telling you what Egyptians use.

Use”MOOtuhKHELLiff” when somebody is being particularly dumb.

Your head/mind is sick. : “duhMEHghuck TAW’BEHnuh”

.دماغك تعبانة

This one is pretty self-explanatory.

Adds a little bit of flair, too!

His / your brain is gone. : “MOOkhoo / MOOkhuck LEHsuh.”

.مخه لاسع

This is usually used for crazy people, not stupid ones.

It doesn’t need anymore stupidity. : “mish TUWLbuh / NUCKsuh ghawBEH”

.مش طالبه غباء

.مش ناقصه غباء

When your stupid friend gets involved in a problem that you are struggling with already, but you tell your friend that you are already suffering, and the thing does not require anymore stupidity.

That’s how this one is used.

Cultural Insight

Egyptians are pretty well-known for their sense of humor.

Because of that, it’s quite common to throw these insults out pretty much whenever.

And all the best to do them with crazy hand gestures. It’s how Egyptians talk, and it will get your point across all the better.

Just make sure you are actually friends with them before you tell them their brain is sick!

Good luck with all your stupid amigos. 🙂
