انا ايريك. انا اصلا من مدينة صغيرة في كاليفورنيا فيها حوالي الف و تلميت شخص, بس بقول للناس اني من سان فرانسسكو علشان يبان اني شاب صايع. بعد ماتخرجت من جامعة جونزاجا في 2015 قررت اسافر مصر علشان اتعلم مصري. و ده فعلا حصل خلال الثلاث سنين اللي عشتهم في القاهرة و بكل فخر كان صحابي المصريين بيسموني “الخواجة”

I’m Eric. I am originally from a small town in California with about 1,300 people, but I tell people I am from San Francisco because it makes me sound cool. After I graduated from Gonzaga University in 2015, I decided to travel to Cairo to learn Egyptian. This ended up happening, and now my Egyptian friends call me “howweguh.” Now, I live in Düsseldorf and try to understand German. Pray for me.

انا طارق. مصري من القاهرة و باشتغل مهندس كيميا و شوية حاجات تانية. انا اتولدت في امريكا بس عمري ما عشت هناك. اتعرفت على ايريك في القاهرة و بعد ما سافر من مصر قررت اساعده ينقل خبرته في مصر للاجانب اللي عايزين يتعلمو مصري و يعرفو اكتر عن مصر الحقيقية. صحابي بيقولولي “السفاح” بس متقلقوش ,انا اخطر حاجة ممكن اعملها اني ملبسش الحزام و انا قاعد في العربية. لو كلمتني اي وقت غالبا هكون بلعب فريسبي.
I’m Tarek. I’m an Egyptian from Cairo, and I work as a chemical engineer (and some other things, too). I was born in America but I have never lived there. I met Eric in Cairo, and after he left Egypt, I decided to help him share his experiences with other foreigners who want to learn about the “true Egypt.” My friends call me “The Slayer,” but don’t worry: the most dangerous thing about me is that I don’t wear the seat belt in cars (come on, it’s Cairo). If you are trying to reach me, I’m probably playing Ultimate Frisbee.
